MRC Biotech has initiated a Phase I clinical trial of their compound MRC202 in the treatment of malignant ascites induced by cancer. This trial will be undertaken at the St. George Hospital Clinical Trials Unit in Sydney. It is expected that data from the trial will be finalised in the first quarter of 2008.
December 2006
MRC Biotech has been awarded a Commercial Ready Grant from
AusIndustry. The grant for $832,750 will be used to co-fund the
Phase I clinical trial of MRC202 against malignant ascites. Dr
David Andrews, CEO of MRC Biotech, said "This grant is a major step
forward for MRC Biotech. The support of AusIndustry is greatly
appreciated and we believe that it will give our MRC202 technology the
best opportunity of making a difference to people with late stage
cancer." MRC Biotech plans to begin it's Phase I trial of MRC202
early in 2007.
September 2006
MRC Biotech will be attending the Bio-Europe Partnering conference in
Dusseldorf, Germany from 5-8 November. We will be actively
seeking partners for our Vitamin D3 and MRC202 technologies.

The Australian patent has been granted for one MRC Biotech patent relating to MRC202.
